Can the speech be about the success they have done? If it is, one of the facts you can point out is they made BASIC for the Altair

You can also watch pirates of silicone valley for good refrences of Microsoft achievements(like them tricking ibm into thinking software is pointless and all of the profit is in the computers themselves) I know alot more but i may be wrong, so just go from there. Another good thing is to note the climb from DOS to Windows (like Windows 1.01 to windows 7 would be cool facts)

I would protest, say you have the right to free speech and if they threaten to take it off your grade you have legal grounds to sue

These are some points i have so far

• slow develepment (e.g kin phone took 2 years to develop but was still under par compared to android and iphone
• Costly (e.g if ubuntu can do everything windows can for free, than is windows really worth $400?
• Monopoly (e.g windows os has been unchanged for 10 years because theres no competition (e.g smartphone market = rapid innovation and competiton.))
• Failed products (many of them including vista, ie6, spot watches, kin phones)
• Uses old second hand code in newer versions. (IE6 - IE 7, still insecure)
• Small dedication to it's products, eventually dying products eg microsoft automobile, etc

That's what iv'e gathered so far, can anyone expand on this

as far as i'm aware ntfs uses contiguous memory allocation, for variable size chunks of memory. so internal fragmentation doesn't occur in windows?? that's a plus point.

Ultimately, the only innovation M$ has ever had is stifling the competition.

Now what's truly disturbing is that's an acceptable practice under modern American capitalism. Strongarming your customers into staying with you even if it costs them more is somehow considered an innovation. Then again, so is price manipulation of commodities and stocks, buying up patents and intellectual properties with the intention of keeping them off the market, and contributing vast sums to politicians' campaign funds to ensure they stay out of your way.

I'm confused by this one. Wouldn't this mean that you shouldn't need to defrag the filesystem...? When in fact my parent's laptop running Windows XP requires a defrag almost weekly (Just ran defraggler and it claims the filesystem has 29.4% fragmentation).
