Hey all,
I've been searching through Google and the forums for a few weeks now, and haven't found anything, before anyone asks. My problem is this: My CD Drive has quit working completely. It isn't that it no longer accepts CDs because the lip is bent or anything, the CD goes in fine, but then just sits there for a minute or two before popping back out. I've tried an Ubuntu Live CD and a regular audio CD and neither do anything. I can't boot from the CD either; holding down the alt button only gives me the linux system on my hard drive, and when I pop a cd in and attempt to run cd-info, the program simply hangs until the cd pops out, then returns the "no media found" or whatever at the end of its list.
Any thoughts?
