Hi, I do not know for sure but you can install awn launcher or docky and put it where you want it, and customize the icons too. they are in the software center or synaptic.

Install the Unity 2D PPA. Be aware there is no right click desktop in 10.10 but apart from that you can add and remove apps from the Unity launcher by using right click.
