    want to copy file from home using live cd

    I was trying to install g++ in my computer .i found that i should remove libc++4.3 or some thing like that to uninstall and i completely removed it and suddenly i got a reboot and my grub was lost.i had some important file in the home folder and want to get that file. i tried but every time shows no such file or directory.i used chroot but all in vein. iam having a ubuntu live cd. how can i get that file please help.i was using ubuntu 9.10

    Boot the machine from the live cd. Then look at the Home folder (places) and see which of the main folders list on the left hand side is your hard drive. Choose this and find your file. Copy and paste your file into a usb stick or whatever.
