    Has there been any reaction from Canonical to the communities Unity critic?

    I haven't seen a reaction from canonical yet. Is there no reaction or have I just overlooked it?
    Will they go on with "business as usual" or will they react to at least some Unity Issues described by the user community?

    I really dear they will ignore the user community, as some recent statements from mark made clear that the focus is more on new users....

    Also, Canonical pronounced the user testing improved from http://design.canonical.com/2010/11/...ting-of-unity/ to http://design.canonical.com/2011/04/...ty-april-2011/ .
    But why? Which improvements to Unity have been made to Unity? As I have seen, the design has not changed.

    What do you expect them to do? They will fix bugs and add some customization options, what else is there to add/change?

    There will be no major changes to unity until 11.10.

    Maybe if really everyone hated it, but plenty of people like it.

    The Unity design will not change, it will only evolve through time like all other software.

    I think they are reacting to feedback from the community, and are improving it.

    They are however committed to making it work & the default.

    For their harshest critics, well there are options when it comes to other desktops. I don't care for Unity, after using it for an extended period, I simply installed Gnome 3.0 and I'm happy as a clam.

    A bunch of the feedback/design fixes from those surveys are being fixed in 11.10:

    I think most issues with Unity go without saying. As in they knew about them and planned to fix them/add the features before even releasing Unity.

    Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's not going to change.

    <snip>

    The improvements to Unity, combined with the UNPARALLELED (in Linux) out-of-the-box hardware support, over the next 2-3 releases will help bring in more new users.
