I have a tablet running Android that I can connect to my laptop via a USB cable. My laptop is connected to wired internet (ethernet), but I have no wifi here, and my tablet does not have an ethernet port. I tried a USB-to-ethernet adapter, but couldn't get the Windows/Mac (no Linux) drivers to play nicely with Android.

So the question is: can I connect my tablet to my laptop, and then somehow access my laptop's internet connection?

I've done several Google/UF searches to no avail, and I'd prefer not to make an ad-hoc wireless network through my laptop if I don't absolutely have to. The laptop runs both K/Ubuntu 10.04 and Windows 7.

Thanks
