font issues with ubuntu 11.04

I was wondering if some fonts were deleted from Ubuntu 10.10 to 11.04.
I found at least 2 programs to have font issues only in Ubuntu 11.04 (I have another computer running Ubuntu 10.10 and they are fine). These programs are VMD 1.9 and GRACE-5.1.22
The fonts in the menus look weird, they are smaller and with low resolution.
An update from Ubuntu 10.10 to 11.04 doesn't seem to have this issue, since a co-worker with the same hardware which used to run 10.10 upgraded to 11.04 and has no font issues.

You can install more fonts by Synaptic or by Software-center, just search "fonts" and install the font-pack you prefer.

I think your problem is that you don't know which font packages you need. For this issue you should install xfonts-100dpi and xfonts-75dpi.
