Hi folks,

I'm a bit of a newbie, so please bear with me if I'm a little slow here.. but I have a question and have not been able to find an answer I can understand..

I am running the 64 bit version of 10.04.. I recently had a hardware meltdown, and replaced my mobo, processor, ram, and power supply.. Now I have a 6 core processor, and 8 gigs of ddr3 memory, but the processor is a little slower on each core than my old dual core..

I play Runescape.. using Chromium for that only, and FF for general web browsing to keep them separate.. and typically play music and the like as I do..

I'd like, therefore, to be able to "tie" a process to a specific processor core.. Specifically, I'd like to set aside say, core 6.. to run the Java process... Core 5 to run Chromium, and let Ubuntu handle everything else between cores 1-4.

Is there a means to do this that is doable to a relative newbie?

Thanks,
Druegan
