    Where are you in cochin? I am from angamaly. Any ways, we don't have any personal/rapid weather stations in cochin. So comment out the XMl_ID as others said and you should be fine.

    Set use_xml=0 in the config file and leave xml_ID as is!!!

    Re: HOWTO: VinDSL Conky Script

    Time to contribute to this thread.

    I noticed that in VinDSL's conkyrc he used many colors viz:
    Code:
    ####
    ## My colors (suit yourself)
    #
    #color0 White		#FFFFFF
    #color1 Ivory		#FFFFF0
    #color2 Ivory2		#EEEEE0
    #color3 Ivory3		#CDCDC1
    #color4 Tan1		#FFA54F
    #color5 Tan2		#EE9A49
    #color6 Gray		#7E7E7E
    #color7 AntiqueWhite4	#8B8378
    #color8 DimGray	        #696969
    #color9 Tomato		#FF6347
    but not all those colors were actually used. To my thinking, we really only need four colors so I reworked conkyrc and the appropriate weather template file(s) so that everything fell into one of four components, viz:
    Code:
    ## Color Palette
    color1 Azure1		# Ubuntu Color
    color2 Cornsilk2	# Icon Color
    color3 Cornsilk4	# Section Header
    color4 Cornsilk3	# Section Text
    Like VinDSL, I like to my change desktop background regularly and that sometimes caused the conky colors to wash out. For instance, with the color settings I just mentioned, this image looks pretty good:
    but by changing the desktop image the conky can get washed out:
    By using only 4 (3 variable) colours with the same categories it is simply a matter of search/replace to change the colour settings in conkyrc to:
    Code:
    color1 Azure1		# Ubuntu Color
    color2 DarkSeaGreen2	# Icon Color
    color3 DarkSeaGreen4	# Section Header
    color4 DarkSeaGreen3	# Section Text
    to get something more distinct:

    Ok, ok... I'm no artist... but you can see what I'm getting at.

    Hi Jackal,

    I'm happy to hear you got it running! I must admit that the instructions are a bit old now in particular the template! if you look back a few pages lets say down to page 70-71 you can see Vin's latest template for metric or imperial or maybe you've already done it haha!

    Anyway have fun messing with your conky! Sean

    Re: HOWTO: VinDSL Conky Script

    Hi Jackal,

    what you're are calling for a template in your .conkyrc file and what you have defined are different!
    your template is defined with a .sh extension
    but the template is: "wx-wu-vindsl-template" without the .sh

    simple action for you would be to delete the definitions (all) of them and simply use the calling path below but make sure you have put vindsl's template text into your: "wx-wu-vindsl-template" file and save it then restart conky.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ####
    ## Define the locations of Conkywx files (required)
    ## Set the path to your .confs and templates here.
    #
    template0 "/usr/share/conkywx/conkywx.sh"
    template1 "/home/jackal/.config/conkywx/vindsl-imperial-conkywx.conf"
    template2 "/home/jackal/.config/conkywx/vindsl-metric-conkywx.conf"
    template3 "/home/jackal/.config/conkywx/wx-wu-vindsl-imperial-weather-dingbat-template.sh"
    template4 "/home/jackal/.config/conkywx/wx-wu-vindsl-imperial-weather-graphic-template.sh"
    template5 "/home/jackal/.config/conkywx/wx-wu-vindsl-metric-weather-dingbat-template.sh"
    template6 "/home/jackal/.config/conkywx/wx-wu-vindsl-metric-weather-graphic-template.sh"

    ##################################
    ## CONKYWX WEATHER ##
    ##################################
    ${voffset 4}${font RadioSpace:bold:size=8.25}${color4}WEATHER${offset 8}${color4}${voffset -2}${hr 2}${font}
    ${execpi 900 conkywx -c /etc/conkywx/conkywx.conf -t /usr/share/conkywx/examples/wx-wu-vindsl-template}${font}

    As to the bargraph being in the wrong place:
    you will need to adjust some values in your bargraph.lua script it's very simple

    take a look at the bargraph snipit below:

    function conky_main_bars()
    local bars_settings={
    { --[ Graph for CPU1 ]--

    angle=90,

    },
    }
    -----------END OF PARAMETERS--------------

    as you can see in your screenshot your 2 cpu bargraphs must be adjusted downwards and the other bargraphs must be adjusted slightly upwards, simply play around with these values until you are happy with the positions.

    Also in your .conkyrc file please change the value:

    text_buffer_size 3600

    to:

    text_buffer_size 4800 or slightly higher!

    I am going to help you even if it kills me!

    work on these points and then write back so we can do this together Sean

    Ps. If youn dont have an nVidia graphic installed in your computer then delete or comment out the nvidia settings in your .conkyrc file!

    Re: HOWTO: VinDSL Conky Script

    Mr.JJ,

    Have you got the below setting in your .conkyrc file:

    ####
    ## Daemonize Conky, aka 'fork to background'.
    #
    background yes

    using this setting stops the strange behavior!

    Thought I would post a January screenie...

    I'm riding on the fringe-edge of Ubudom, right now.

    Gnome-Shell 3.7.4.1 (Staging) / Linux 3.8-rc4 / Chromium 26 (Canary) / Conky 1.9.0 / ConkyWX 0.7.9

    GS (Staging) has destroyed customization in Unity (stuck with the default settings), but GS is looking sexy...
