    I've been playing with arrows all day. Isn't Conky fun?!?!?

    I went about it a different way...

    It requires installing a new font: Arrows by JLH Fonts (dafont.com) || JLH Fonts (author's site)

    Yes conky is FUN !!!

    Interesting font - ok let me see - can include this as part of the fonts packages with the program.

    I was working on the Version check thing and finally got the simplest solution - the number in the conky_version_check_test must be the same as the running program else the file is deleted which makes a fresh call to the server to get current file version - if that is higher - you get a noti for new version.

    Also the blacklist for changing the present condition - I felt people may have their own choice - why force them to what I feel is right - maybe they have a different take on what is right -and no calls to sed for this one and also capitalization - conky n vinDSL give you so many ideas

    Yes, an interesting font, for sure! And, freshly minted...

    I use dingbats* whenever possible. They're easier to work with than graphics, IMO, and quickly swapped out.

    I tried several arrow fonts before settling on this one. The author did an excellent job!

    I am using echo -e '\unicode' or regular alphabet echo -e 'c' - both work - so it makes it easy - see the wiki have updated it for the new version

    Re: HOWTO: VinDSL Conky Script

    Hi Cvetan,

    Are you using the vindsl scripts or something else ?

    CPU info vinddsl conkyrc script:
    The code below shows your actual Frequency of "cpu0" but the name of the CPU has been hard coded so you can simply change this name to your own CPU.

    ${voffset 2}${font StyleBats:size=10}${color2}A${voffset -1}${font DroidSans:size=8.6}${color3}${offset 5}Intel®${offset 3}${offset 3}Core ™2 Duo E6850${offset 3}${alignr 1}${font DroidSans:size=8.3}${freq_g cpu0}${offset 1}GHz${font}

    In the script it only displays 2 cores:
    ${voffset 6}${font StyleBats:size=9.9}${color2}k${voffset -2}${font DroidSansFallback:size=8.39}${color3}${offset 2}CPU1${offset 5}${font DroidSans:size=8.3}${cpu cpu1}%${font}
    ${voffset 2}${font StyleBats:size=9.9}${color2}k${voffset -2}${font DroidSansFallback:size=8.39}${color3}${offset 2}CPU2${offset 5}${font DroidSans:size=8.3}${cpu cpu2}%${font}

    you could use the 2 existing lines to make 2 more and simply rename the third and forth to cpu3 and cpu4 and then use the existing cpu code in the lua file to create 2 more bars again you would need to label them cpu3 and cpu4, you would need to play around with the positions in the code to place them correctly but dont forget if you do all this everything else underneath will move downwards and depending on the size of your monitor you may loose some of the info that is being display.

    I hope i was able to help.

    Many thanks Sean

    Re: HOWTO: VinDSL Conky Script

    Yes i am using vindsl. If i undestood you well, i can copy the part for cpu in lua file, and just rename the arguments? I tried that and it did not show the graphs, but regulary show info for the cpu usage in percentage.
    I might have made mistake somewhere, but i doubt because i just copied and pasted.

    Thanks.

    Finally got my conky to match my theme. Thanks VinDSL. Looking forward to incorporating anything else you might add.
    Thanks again

    Re: HOWTO: VinDSL Conky Script

    Hi Cvetan,

    look at the post from Lambodroid he is using 6 cores and the lua file for the bars maybe you could ask him for the lua file and take out the 2 bars you wont need.

    In the Lua file did you adjust the Y coordination values in your 2 new bars ? these must be adjusted to reflect 2 new positions for your 2 extra CPU's if you didn't then the new bars would simply sit on top of existing bars for cpu1 and cpu2 !
    perhaps that is why you couldn't see the new ones.

    Take a look here i think you will see what i mean:

    { --[ Graph for CPU3 ]--
    name="cpu",
    arg="cpu3",
    max=100,
    alarm=50,
    alarm_colour={0xFF0000,0.72},
    bg_colour={0xFFFFFF,0.25},
    fg_colour={0x00FF00,0.55},
    mid_colour={{0.45,0xFFFF00,0.70}},
    x=82,y=156,<----------------------------------play with this value it needs to be higher!
    blocks=61,
    space=1,
    height=2,width=5,
    angle=90,
    smooth=true
    },
    { --[ Graph for CPU4 ]--
    name="cpu",
    arg="cpu4",
    max=100,
    alarm=50,
    alarm_colour={0xFF0000,0.72},
    bg_colour={0xFFFFFF,0.25},
    fg_colour={0x00FF00,0.55},
    mid_colour={{0.45,0xFFFF00,0.70}},
    x=82,y=170,<------------------------------------play with this value it needs to be higher!
    blocks=61,
    space=1,
    height=2,width=5,
    angle=90,
    smooth=true
    },

    I'm not sure if you would need to do anything else to the Lua file so it maybe a good idea to ask LamboDroid for the code to his Lua!
    You may also need to adjust the bars under your 2 new ones, i'm not sure again but it could be.

    Sean
