All going well except for my Ubuntu 11.10 install that conkywx does not think it is up to date even though it is. This is a very small problem just trying to find out why it thinks this.

Well, that was a weird one!

• Couldn't get Conkywx to input data to temp_template at boot
• Downgraded to 0.7.2 -- same problem
• Did a fresh install of 0.7.4 -- same problem
• Ran one of Paramvir's "example" templates -- started working
• Checked my test template -- couldn't find any problems
• Switched back to my test template -- continued to keep working
• Checked the text_buffer_size. Lessened it by 1000 bytes -- still working

I'll see it it survives a cold boot...

Are you seeing the errant notice every time it fetches data?

Since the pipe problem has been fixed i have had no problems what so ever!
I saw your last screenshot and i must say it looks wonderful, perfectly matched with that wallpaper, i must admit you have very good taste in wallpapers!
It's slowly getting cold here in Dresden, only 9°C at the moment but it looks like it's going to get warmer during the week up to 24-25°C come Thursday.
Anyway here's a nice picture of the City taken in the evening sometime during the summer this year.

Yes every fetch on my 11.10 install which is my 6 core machine it shows that dialog. On my eight core 12.04 everything is fine and looks correct.

I am wondering if I have deleated some file it is looking for but have done two full uninstall and installs so do not think that would be the case.

It works find just looks a little strange when it fetches.

Thanks! Glad it's working for you.

I've discovered that my Conkywx install is much more stable, if I leave the templates, and so forth, in their native locations.

I know you're supposed to be able to move them around, but I've had limited success doing this.

So, I'm going to go with conventional paths, for a while, until I can sort it out.

It works find just looks a little strange when it fetches.

Well, like Paramvir said, Conkywx is in an early stage of development. It hasn't been around long, and pouring over his code, I can see that he's added a lot of functionality.

I'm happy it's working as good as it is.

We're all over the map, as far as the hardware is concerned. I'm running cutting edge dev releases on ancient iron. Your setup sounds like it belongs in a space shuttle. LoL!

New problem today, on login...

cp: cannot stat `/usr/share/conkywx/examples/weather-template-test.sh': No such file or directory

I recall this has happened to me once - using ext4 - don't know - everything was fine - just ran the forced update and everything was up and running

In your code thingy - first it could not find the template and then it could not fine the copy of that template - so the long list of msgs.

Now I have added a test for the template - exits if it cannot find it with a nice message

All going well except for my Ubuntu 11.10 install that conkywx does not think it is up to date even though it is. This is a very small problem just trying to find out why it thinks this.

delete the file $HOME/.conkywx_new_version_test - this will update it with the latest info - need to figure how to delete it on uninstall - perhaps in the install script - part of uninstall cleanup script - grrrrrrrrr

This is the only file created by conkywx in your $HOME folder.
