The best way to answer this question is to try it and see, IMHO. You could also see if anyone else has successfully installed a program in wine by going to the App DB:

Someone reported on a thread a day ago that they using the encyclopedia with Wine.

Yes, I can confirm that I've gotten it to work fine. A little buggy here and there but totally usable.
