Can't get Ubuntu 11.04 or e to recognize media files on Sansa Fuze

Hi.
Running Ubuntu 11.04. Using most current Fuze firmware.

I'm trying to move music from Fuze to computer using Banshee.I'm using the MSC mode because when I use the MTP mode neither Banshee nor Ubuntu even see the Fuze.

However when I use the MSC mode, Banshee seems to see all the music on my micro SDHD card.

When I point it to the main memory, Banshee and Ubuntu recognize that there are files in the flash memory, but Banshee does not recognize the files as mp3s. The bar beneath the main window shows nearly 8 gig of content, but all orange, meaning the files are not recognized as viable media.

I have a sansa clip+ and it runs into similar issues.

I set it to MSC mode... Then allow banshee a few minutes to figure out that their is music on the device. then you can use banshee just fine.

alternatively just add the media from a file manager.

Thanks. I tried the MSC mode but maybe didn't wait long enough because Banshee wasn't even seeing the Fuze. I'll try again and wait a little longer.

Nope. That didn't work. Banshee knows there's content, but it doesn't recognize what that content is.
