This is Linux. It gives you a cute mascot and enough rope to hang yourself!
The comment about tons of breakages not true dude!

I am using LM 11 Katya right now--I find it to be more responsive than Ubuntu. All codecs were installed so there is very little to do after installation--you can just start working on your machine (no excuses).
I am impressed. Wondering how they will implement Gnome 3 when it comes to upgrade to Gnome 3 from Gnome 2.x.

As of today I am using Mint 11 now, at least until Ubuntu or Unity gets their act together. If they can't make a useful desktop, I'll probably move to Fedora 15/16 after I'm done with Mint.
I don't want my desktop to act like my Smartphone. Screw favorites and searching. I want to see everything I got installed at my fingertips. Sometimes I can't remember, so searching doesn't help.
Really impressed with Mint 11, seems really stable, I installed one program when finished installing, everything was there and ready to use, no mucking around, thats what I want, nice.
Could be my next Linux distro as well. Either Mint or Xubuntu, the XFCE flavour of Ubuntu.
Ubuntu with Unity is just asking for trouble. I don't bother even trying it at this point anymore.
