    I have no idea what's going on with the firmware installer. I installed it last evening and it went perfectly for me.

    if that wont work try to uninstall the bcmwl-kernel-source then install the firmware then the bcmwl-kernel-source again to what repos do yo have open as the firmware is a 3rd party source. Pleasee open up ubuntu software center go to edit-->sofware sources then make sure all are ticked see pics then close software sources and ubuntu software center and do a
