    Hi all! I'd just like to confirm that this script does work on KDE with an nVidia 6200 AGP. Thanks for the script!

    this is functional for ati cards on dapper and i have 8.25.18 ati drivers
    i have this script in /ust/local/bin/nonXgl

    Code:
    #!/bin/sh
    DISPLAY=":0"
    if [ -z "$1" ]; then
            echo "Usage: nonXgl <command>"
            exit 1
    fi

    LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2 $@
    i mean this is functional with other ati drivers
    that is all what do you need for run opengl applications in Xgl with opengl acceleration

    I have an ATI radeon x800 xl agp card and Kubuntu dapper
    It works perfectly, but i change

    LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2 $@

    with

    LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGL.so $@

    cause libGL.so.1.2 don't exist in my /usr/lib folder

    i try also libGL.so.1

    generaly this method works but it reduce more the performace of game than without Xgl, loading and after when u play the perfomace are not acceptable in my computer (2gb ram, athlon xp 2600, 120gb hd).

    if you are having trouble running a command such as (with spaces and/or quotes):

    Code:
    nonXgl wine "C:\Program Files\Steam\steam.exe"
    modify your /usr/bin/nonXgl exec line to this:

    Code:
    exec "$@"
