    KDE icons will not change

    Hi all,

    I've just installed 10.04 LTS.

I installed Ubuntu first (Gnome) and then KDE desktop, using Synaptic.

After setting everything up, I find that in KDE I cannot change the icon set!

    Weird.

In the system settings it allows me to change them to a set I want, then appears to apply it, but nothing changes EXCEPT the examples.desktop folder icon. Again, weird.

    This is KDE 4.4.5.

Yes, I like Gnome and KDE )

Any help would be most appreciated.

Re: KDE icons will not change

    I have the same issue.

This issue is also apparent with LXDE and Bodhi; (I have another machine with these window managers installed.)

I tried system settings --> appearance.

for GTK type window settings I have to log into Lubuntu --> go to customize look and feel.

Icons and Desktop changing transitions such as 'cube transition' do not work properly for me.

I want 2 window managers as I need a lightweight Linux for things.
I do not want to Triple boot Windows/Lubuntu/KDE.
I do not want to Re-install as it was a NIGHTMARE getting my video card to work, setting up Xampp, and SCID.
