Tomboy Hotkeys--Is anyone else having trouble with these?

I can't get Tomboy's hotkeys to work, either the default ones or the ones I've set. I've tried changing them to different keys, too, but no go. There's a workaround somewhere that suggests mapping
    Code:
    tomboy --new-note
to a key combination, but that won't work if there's already a tomboy instance running.

This is all compounded by the fact that in Unity, I can't click on the Tomboy panel icon. I can click on the Network Manager icon, and then move my mouse over to the Tomboy icon, but it's a pain.

All I want to do is be able to press Ctrl+Alt+N and get a new Tomboy note, but I can't seem to be able to make that happen. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me? Are there settings I can try to revert (i.e. by deleting some configuration file somewhere) that could rectify this problem?

Confirmed, none of Tomboy hotkeys work in unity for me.
So frustrated I might skip Unity altogether.

Doesn't work for me either. neither do my other global key bindings, like <Mod4>T to launch a terminal.
I knew I should have waited a few months to install natty...

UPDATE: tomboy hotkey still won't work, but I solved my second problem according to this:

Not working for me either. I just discovered tomboy but really misses the ability to have a keybord binding for a new note.

Just adding my voice to the choir.

Shortcuts created in TB (Ubuntu 11.10) simply don't work.

I can create custom shortcuts through the keyboard settings, but not matter which I create (tomboy --new-note | tomboy --start-here | etc) all open the TB search window in an inactive window).

If TB is currently not running (e.g., turned off in start apps) and I then launch TB from a terminal, commands written through the terminal work fine, and TB closes finely when the terminal is closed. But I am gonig for both keyboard usage and with a minimal of keystrokes, and I don't think I'm lazy to say that's too many.
