@23dornot23d; how did you get conky to display? I'm trying to run a conky script but there's nothing on the desktop, though system monitor shows that it's running.

Also I have a image in here sometimes using this line and having the image on my Desktop as 1.jpeg
if its not there it still runs ok though .... as I found out .....
( but its maybe best to remove the 2 lines if you do not need them - placement was top or bottom )
image size wants to be 280 x 240 pixels ..... if you have one .... and jpeg extension.

Where its highlighted in red refers to this additional program .....

I used the scripts directory for the darker background ...... and changed the red
highlighted text to suit ..... ( if you do not need a darker background then leave as is )

    @cbowman57: I have a request for you:

I'm downloading the iso right now, but I don't know what I'm downloading. The first post seems a bit scary with broken links and a screen shot that is probably not the default interface.

Could you please divide your post in separate sections like "installation", "troubleshooting", "download links" and could you also tell what elements the default installation got from Gnome3 vanilla and what elements from Ubuntu? e.g. does it have ayatana scrollbars? Ambiance/Radiance theme?

I got rid of the dead link, the rest seem to be working. I'm assuming you're downloading v2, in which case it contains everything to make it look & act like the screenshot, minus the wallpaper in a matter of a few minutes, there are a couple glitches but the installation notes included should cover the procedure. As far as Unity, it has everything that a regular 11.04 installation comes with. I'm assuming that's what you mean when you ask about ayatana scrollbars & Amdiance/Radiance themes?

If you'd like to submit a better version of post #1 I'll be gad to put it up there. My organizational skills when I write leave something to be desired sometimes.

    Re: gNatty Gnome Live ISO

Has anybody else noticed that when the error and the sad face comes up ......

Everything appears to run normally ........ but the System Cannot Recover according to the
    message it shows ..... !!! .....

    I ran two applications up using ctrl+f2 ..... from cairo-dock ..... guess what they work .... !!!

( serious problems - the system cannot recover .... so let me know why .... and we can maybe
work out a solution to it ..... where do we look to solve this ....... the error message is so descriptive
was it generated from the kernel - javascript - a C program .... temperature controls .... disk writing errors
I seem to see nothing that is so a miss ....... never had linux ever stop me from recovering in all my years
using it other than a total crash ....... and I am trying to think back to one of those ...... )

Yet this message I have seen 20 to 30 times in the last week ,,, and if its so serious .....
why am I not seeing more information about it ......

Where are they making this ERROR MESSAGE come from .... ?

Because on dual sceen they can not block me seeing what is going on ..... and CONKY
shows that everything is running just fine for me .......

    SCREENSHOT - UNITY

( Weird - now why does this Error Message try to block the whole screen and give little information as to why ....... !!! ...... its not attempting to give any clues ....... """" )

One more question is why can I run all the systems ok that I never upgraded ........
A week ago this stupid screen started to appear and there are no explanations for it
or follow ups to it .......... me smells something and its not roses ........

Not at all what I would expect .......

( I ran two applications up and dropped back into Gnome-shell )

Gnome-Shell runs with the applications still running .... so how can we track down this
has anybody seen any write ups or explanations for it ..... ?

I need to Google search on >>>>>>

Oh no ! Something has gone wrong

I found this announcement LINK for FEDORA
but that should not effect us too should it ?

A week ago this stupid screen started to appear and there are no explanations for it
or follow ups to it .......... me smells something and its not roses ........

Not at all what I would expect .......
Other than the initial crashes due to configuring extensions I haven't had any crashes. Does that just happen in Unity? I just left Unity in the mix to be doubly sure I didn't break any dependencies. Other than installation I haven't used it so I can't verify what you're seeing. Do you think it might have something to do with the dual display?
