Ah, yes, that would be a problem. I used to have to make & install the drivers for my ralink every time I changed kernels.

At least you did confirm that it feels quicker. Back when I used to try and compile my own kernels I'd always set it for desktop performance, but while I built some that would boot it always seemed that it would break something, sound mostly, but I built quite a few that wouldn't boot at all.

    Opinions

On post #1 I've labeled v1 & 2 as obsolete. Considering deleting it from the tracker.

Any good reasons why I should leave it available?

Also deleted Natty Gnome (the original), can't see a point in having it circulated with v3 available now.

    Latest experiment

Just threw together a version built on top of the Xubuntu iso, added the export CLUTTER_VBLANK=none line to .profile, the liquorix kernel & added preload. This machine flies now, rather impressed so far.

My own opinion - keep moving this thing forward and don't look back ......

I have backups of everything we ever produced here ..... although they take up space - one day they may become like the spectrum or zx81.

    who knows ....

keep on pushing forwards .... this thing is unsinkable .... like the Titanic .....

I keep looking at UNITY and how fast that is progressing ..... awesome .... one day it will not crash and burn.

On a more serious note ..... we are pushing against the waves now ... but to me its good fun ...

I thought about a holiday in France for all the people I like on here .... Vin Dsl ... Cariboo ... CBowman ... Bulldog and My friend Cecil and a few others too ....

one day we should have a few beers together ....... who knows stranger things happen in life ....

A good BBQ and a few beers ...

We will either end up fighting or being best of friends ....

    or both ......

Like that thought about a holiday,France is a beautiful country.

Are you guys ride a motorcycle as well?

Me too,a red VTR1000F,had this one for almost 10 years now.
Started with a Kawasaki 500 Mach 3 in 1977,a two stroke engine and very fast, enjoyed this one for 6 months, then it broke down, and I bought me a more sensible one.
    A Honda 250cc Four stroke.

    Aaahhh.... those where the days....
Resistance is futile.....you will be assimilated!

Wow nice .... good work keeping it going all that time .....

    and now a ...

    A Honda 250cc Four stroke.
May be a little too far for a 250 ....

I am in a Brittany and no longer have a motor bike .... but if you want to travel over here you are welcome .... if you are up for camping ... or roughing it a little .....

Kitchen ..... Computers .... Beers Wine and Food ......
    I have had ...
    XL250 honda trail bike ....Yamaha XJ600 ... Honda 700 VFR American import blue .... and a Red VFR750 ....
I should too consider getting a 250 again .... good all round bikes ... and sensible fuel consumption too.

Meanwhile back at the ranch the Iso is going well too .... 15 or so downloads ...

We'll have to find something else to drink, I've never been a beer drinker, even the 3+ years I was in Germany.

But yeah, we'd probably forget most of the conversation by the next day.

I'd really like to take my bike over there.
