    Question Greybird Theme Transparent Indicator Plugin

    I'm currently using the greybird theme on Xubuntu 11.04 but I can't seem to get the indicator plugin to have a transparent background.

    I've tried modifying the gtkrc file and the panel.rc but I cannot find the part where the grey image is being called....

    I have attached a screenshot and the panel.rc file.

    The gtkrc file is below (it's too large to attach);

    # Author: Simon Steinbeiß
    # Theme: Greybird
    # based on "Bluebird" by Simon Steinbeiß and Pasi Lallinaho
    # Description: As is the original theme, this theme is 100% free and open source.

    Re: Greybird Theme Transparent Indicator Plugin

    I remember reading somewhere that this is a known bug (though I can't find the reference now). I also run a debian sid install and noticed that after a recent update, transparency for this indicator starting working as it should. Hopefully the fix is in the pipelines. If I find the references, I'll post back.

    Re: Greybird Theme Transparent Indicator Plugin

    I have this problem too. Tried to edit .gtkrc and other theme resources, even looked on the plugin source code. Seems that indicator gets background color from menu, but menu don't have transparency. So i've submitted bug to launchpad, maybe developer will fix this.

    Re: Greybird Theme Transparent Indicator Plugin

    as the author of the greybird theme i can safely tell you that it's impossible to make the background of the indicator-plugin transparent.
    this is not an issue of the theme but an issue of the indicator-plugin itself (tbh it's still in a very basic state), it doesn't support the true alpha transparency of the new panel yet.

    the correct thing to do would be to report a bug upstream (bugs.xfce.org) against the xfce4-indicator-plugin.
