Indeed it seems, that after some time it doesn't work. Any news about this issue (suspend/hibernate)?

Haven't read all the comments on this thread, but I thought that I mention this for those people who are having trouble installing ubuntu on a 1215b, from a usb stick. The following worked like a charm for me (after 24 hours of frustration).

    From this link: http://askubuntu.com/questions/70025...-1215b-netbook

i had the same problem and finally i got Ubuntu installed!

    I did it that way:

Use Unetbootin to make an usb-stick.
Download the distribution you like (Ubuntu daily in my case)! WITH UNETBOOTIN!
Press Esc when the asus boot screen appears and choose your usb-stick (not uefi).
I installed Ubuntu with standard configuration and partitioning and it it runs very good.

Can someone tell me the temperatures they are getting for their cpu? One message in this thread says that they're getting the same temperatures as in a Windows 7 setup. What are those temperatures? Under non-intensive use (video, internet, etc.), I'm getting between mid 50's and 60 degrees centigrade. Have no idea whether this is normal.

PS: For those of you who have trouble with video acceleration, follow this guide

PS2: to get flash acceleration working, create directory /etc/adobe and write this to to /etc/adobe/mms.cfg:
    EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=1
edit: looks like it doesn't work with this either

PS3: updating the bios made the netbook feel kinda faster
Regarding the "sometimes it doesn't boot" issue. The solution is to go into your bios and turn of C6.

    Cheers!

Thats the same I am getting, some who have installed Jupiter with eeePC script claim to get lesser as it enables the SHE engine which is done in Windows 7.

Turning off C6 would mean that suspend won't go into deep state of sleep with 0v.

I am going to get a 1215B for myself but I realised that there is now a 1225B. They are so very similar!

Do you happen to have this new version and can you please advise me on which is the better deal? eg. I was told that the 1225B RAM is soldered onboard (bad)...

Soldered is no good but max RAM on these units is about 2GB.

Huh? The 1215b I have has 2 DIMM sockets and is currently equipped with 6gb of RAM with no issue.
