bluetooth problem after upgrade to natty

Upgraded from 10.10 to 11.04 on my dell laptop.Bluetooth stopped working. When checked for status, bluetooth daemon was not running. Starting it manually too didn't help.

Till here it was ok. But yesterday, I logged into win 7 (I have dual boot) and installed bluetooth drivers for windows. Then rebooted into ubuntu again. Voila! Bluetooth started working in natty!

Can't think of any explanation. Can somebody explain this?

It has happened to me before that the bluetooth hardware has a software/switch to enable/disable the device, but this switch was not generic and so only when enabled through it's custom windows software, was the device enabled or even enable-able under linux. It was a built-in 3G card for me but I reckon it could be a similar thing your side?
