gx_head build problem

I'm not able to build gx_head on my kubuntu 11.04. I insalled all the needed prerequisites, and now when i ./waf configure it gives an error saying jack could not be found. I have jack2 installed, is it not compatible with jack2? is there a file or something that I can modify to point the installation to the location of jack2

... I still don't fully understand why the packaged version lacks gx_head. The new interface has been released for almost a year already!

Even more ridiculous, the old interface has display errors which render it unusable.

Did you ever get that gx_head to build? I'm also looking at building it soon, and would like to know you have more problems.

Actually, if anyone got gx_head to build (or made a ppa) fill me in!
