and it creates the image. sorry i can't tell more as i dont' know which burning software you are using.

anyway here is some useful links (again i wish i coudl get more accurate ones but plenty sites have access blocked here at work):
    www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Linux

if you have it with bloodmoon extension: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...rsion&iId=3383

@Miro - borrowing is legal. what is not legal is making a copy of it. so when we talk about isos we are pass legality anyway (at least in some countries as some allow to make copy for personall use i.e. fair use).
Thanks ill look into that some more when i get the game running...but i still have the "no cd/dvd drive" error popping up and i cant get it to run.

    Re: .iso games not working

I would recomend this nifty little application, it emulates a cd-rom drive and you can mount an iso into it.

So the software will think it's actually reading from a cd drive.

    http://cdemu.sourceforge.net/

Unfortunately it's not in the repositories. But they do have a PPA

Edit: It also says in the PPA "vhba-dkms"

Looking at it, it seems the packages for natty are still in development.

So I suppose it's not available quite yet

No-CD patch should solve this problem.

you should check the UESP link i gave you. Aside from good isntructions on how to run any TES series game in linux the site also has a friendly forum where you can ask for aditional advice. i know some people there have a lot more experience in running Morrowind in Linux.
Easy to understand Ubuntu manual with lots of pics: http://ubuntu-manual.org/
Do i need antivirus/firewall in linux?

At the top of the ppa page

    *** Official CDEmu packages ***

Ubuntu 10.04 - Lucid series (Unsupported)
Ubuntu 10.10 - Maverick series (Unsupported)
Ubuntu 11.04 - Natty series (Supported. In progress.)
I don't see any purposed dates, although they seem to have a q&a section and you can email the developers. I suppose one could give them a nudge or simply ask if they have an eta for the natty package.

You could also just build it from source yourself.

It's available via their ppa now for natty. So I would just use their ppa to install.

If your interested about why your compile failed

That's the joy of compiling from source that your running into, dependency hell

Usually you can search synaptic for the package it wants. I used apt-get to search and I believe it wants this package highlighted in red. You should be able to install that package and continue with the compile. If you haven't installed it already you also will need the build-essential package and possibly more dependencies. They should have a INSTALL or README file in their source that tells you exactly what you need to have installed to compile their package.
