11.04 - Can't maximize Vuze after its been minimized.

    I just upgraded to 11.04 (64bit)
I let ubuntu upgrade itself from 10.10 to 11.04 via the update manger.

Ever since then, whenever I minimize Vuze, either by actually minimizing, or by X'ing it out...

I am unable to bring it back up.

I know its still running, from monitoring download progress, but the only way I can get back into it once its minimized, is to reboot, and relaunch.

When I try to re-open the application, it looks like ubuntu thinks about opening it for a second, but then does nothing.

Normally, it is stored in the system tray whether I click on the underscore, or the X.

The only way to exit Vuze, is File|Quit.

I'm going to try and do a clean install later, and see if that makes a difference.

My experience with upgrading an OS has always been that it works much better if you do a clean install.

But in the meantime, if case that does not work, any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Sorry - can't help but this is just to say I have the exact same problem with Vuze after upgrading to Natty. I dont see vuze listed as a running process but I know it is still doing its stuff and I can control it from my phone using transdroid but i can't see it or maximise it. The Unity launcher shows the blue vuze frog but there is no indicator by the icon in the launcher to show vuze is running, though there should be because it is. If I try and launch vuze from the terminal it tells me there is already an instance running. If i hit alt-tab to switch between running apps, vuze does not show up - it is as if it was running as a daemon? and that is all i have to say about that.

Don't use vuze but I have the same problem with gnome-mplayer. It is definitely a Unity bug.

ok - got it sorted - open a terminal and paste this command in:

    gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['all']"

then logout and log back in again and start vuze running.
The command lets vuze (or other apps) put their icon in the 'system tray' - the little blue frog is back in the bar at the top of the screen so I can click on froggy to get the vuze window to maximise. yay!

Didn't seem to have any effect.

For now, I'm just logging in as "Classic Ubuntu"

The new dock is very pretty, but I'm fine with classic, if that means everything will work correctly.

it worked for me and is still working ok but it does seem that different setups work quite differently. As for Unity, I have noticed other problems in the last couple of days since upgrading, i might have to switch back to classic desktop too.
