Please follow the "Wireless Script" link in my signature to download "wireless_script". Run it while the usb one is also plugged in. Post back the result as mentioned in the linked post.

We may try to troubleshoot whichever seems easier.

Please don't post the same question twice. I have deleted your other post.

10.04 is out of support. Better to begin with a fresh install of 13.04.

The above one is the only wireless adapter the script could detect. It seems your netbook either doesn't have an internal card or is somehow physically disabled/disconnected. You may try resetting the BIOS to see if it can magically make it appear.

Anyway, the above netgear adapter is supported by the native rtl8192cu driver in 12.04 and so you shouldn't need ndiswrapper. But like mörgæs mentioned above, 10.04 desktop is no more supported and so you should upgrade to 12.04 LTS or 13.04. The LTS will be supported till April 2017, while 13.04 only till January next year (but will have newer drivers).

Just download these, run in live mode and install whichever you like more. Most probably, your usb adapter will work out-of-box with both of these. If not, troubleshooting a supported version makes more sense.

How to install 12.04 LTS (all the steps will be same for 13.04 also) : http://howtoubuntu.org/how-to-instal...ecise-pangolin

    Shorter Official guide : http://www.ubuntu.com/download/deskt...g-term-support

I recommend using torrents to download the ISO. They are usually faster and ensure integrity of the downloaded data.

Official source for torrents : http://www.ubuntu.com/download/deskt...tive-downloads

    Best of Luck !
