I just got one of these tiny USB wifi adaptors for my new Linux Mint 12 (Ubuntu 11.10 based) laptop. It worked immediately and I didnt have to do anything!

It is unclear whether it recovers from this issue. Is a wireless interface created?Does it scan?Code:iwconfigIf not, any error or warning may be helpful. Do you have the firmware in place?Code:sudo iwlist wlan0 scanI am googling the eeprom message but haven't found a solution yet.Code:md5sum /lib/firmware/rtlwifi/rtl8192cufw.bin

I followed steps above, which worked for me on Ubuntu 10.04
Ubuntu 10.04 32-bit and 64-bit versions both worked for me, except I used the Realtek drivers referenced earlier.
Thanks all for the help!

Yes, you should be directing the terminal to the location of the files. Where did you extract the package? Your desktop? Then do:Then check for the install.sh file by listing the contents of the directory:Code:cd Desktop/RTLwhatever it's namedIs it there? If so, please proceed.Code:ls
