Upgrading Using Alternate CD Requires Internet Connection !!!

    Hi all,

This is the first time for me to try to upgrade offline.

I've downloaded Ubuntu 11.04 alternate ISO. When I start upgrading, first this window appears.

Seems Ok, but when it get to Getting new packages it shows this window

whick informs me that I've to download 894MB to complete the upgrade.

Since I had no internet connection at that time. This error appears

So, how can I upgrade offline?

    This the steps I've done

    Thanks in advance.

I think you are saying to download the required packages, then install it offline.

So, does that mean that the alternate CD is useless?

Is this the normal way to upgrade Ubuntu offline?

It is indeed true that using the alternate CD requires an internet connection, so just connect to the internet while upgrading.
