    how to check upload/download in ubuntu

    hi

    is there any way by which i can check my download / upload net usage. From the point when i connect to the internet and disconnect i want to know the usage.

    Using firestarter solves this problem, but i want an alternate method (if it exists) like from the terminal by running some command or something.

    install gkrellm and configure it.

    The System Monitor has Network History which provides just that.
