    Wireless usb adapter driver install

I bought a 802n usb card, sold by patriot(RTL8712, i think its realtek) but it came with a driver for linux. The card work better in windows than the one that came with my laptop. The problem is I not sure how to proceed. I tried to extract the driver, not sure if I did that right, but I cant find the adapter listed anywhere, i tried system/admin/hardware drivers and not there. Any help as to which direction I should go? Thank you in advance...

    Hey eddski,

Realtek drivers need to be compiled. Before we start, can you install the following package from synaptic 'build-essentials or run the following terminal command:

    Code:
    suds apt-get install build-essential
