Exclamation How to Burn a Playable DVD?

    Hello Forum,

The following request for help is being done on a machine with Ubuntu 10.10 installed.

I keep seeing articles on HowTo burn a playable DVD for a DVD player. I have used Brasero, I have used the following two corroboratively: Devede, then GnomeBaker.

I cannot seem to get to make a DVD file to create a menu then to burn to a DVD to accomplish the above task.

Any help or tutorials would be much appreciated.

Note: this is not a request to burn pirated videos. I have a legit file I am trying to burn to a playable DVD.

I personally use DeVeDe, with that you can create a basic menu.
If you want something more elaborate you could try ManDVD 2, I think is located in the Community repositories

    Best Regards,

P.S.: DeVeDe will create a ISO image that you can burn with brasero...

Re: How to Burn a Playable DVD?

Using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS I used Brasero to burn video DVDs a few times. After upgrading to 11.04, Brasero would no longer recognize blank DVDs when I tried burning to them. Reinstalling Brasero, growisofs and dvd-rw-tools did not rectify the problem.

I followed your suggestion and installed DeVeDe and am able to burn video DVDs again. Thanks.
