    Slot opening DVD failed on iMac can I install from external USB Drive?

    The slot opening DVD has failed yet again on my iMac. Can I install Ubuntu with an external usb DVD drive?

    Read the intallation instructions for MintPPC. It will tell you how to boot from a USB stick.

    An external dvd drive should work fine.
    I learn something ubuntu everyday.
