Stream Ripper/Mplayer
How do you use stream ripper I have it installed on my computer but know I am wondering how to use it. I have also heard that there is a way to dump mplayer streams to your hard drive. How is this done?
Thanks |

Re: Stream Ripper/Mplayer
I've not used stream ripper, but but I did come across an example using mplayer and saved it to my cheat sheet:
Code:
mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile stream.wmv mms://lang.stanford.edu/courses/ee380/050216-ee380-100.wmv |

Re: Stream Ripper/Mplayer
Streamripper seemingly only rips streamed versions of .mp3 or .ogg. These seem to be in the minority for mainstream radio stations.
My HowTo tells you how to rip Real Audio streams: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=169278 This also links to the Streamripper HowTo. Thanks also for the Mplayer info for Windows streams. |
