    Best distro for this hardware?

I have a very old pentium 2 255mhz 160mb ram computer and I don't like windows ME at all. Is there any suitable linux alternative? i'm hoping for it to be a little easy to configure and setup, i've tried DSL but it isn't really what I wanted. Will XFCE work on this?

Windows ME is obsolete, DSL is obsolete, your hardware is obsolete. Personally I would recycle it properly and check Craigslist, Freecycle, Goodwill, etc. for a Pentium 4 (or better) with 512mb RAM (or more). This is the minimum hardware for Ubuntu, in my opinion. You should be able to find a system like this for between $0-100 (depending on where you live).

It's not like I don't have a modern system, I myself have a quadcore and a 6950, i'm just seeing what options I have in bringing this old system back to life.

Puppy Linux! Theres a Ubuntu based version, so you can use apt and .debs.
