    how to resize(reduce) size of photo and increase decrease pixel size

    I want to make my photo less than 40 kb . My photo on scanning is 313 kb also i want to decrease pixel size to 110*140 .How is it possible?

    image/resize enter 110 and 140 do not link


    and save as a .gif it will go well under 40k just tested it and it gave me 13k

    Gimp is fine for occasional resizing but maybe a bit cumbersome for such a small job, an alternative would be to install nautilus-image-converter from either Synaptic Package Manager or the Ubuntu Software Centre.

    This will give you a right click resize option from within Nautilus. Right click the image and select "Resize Images.." and enter details eg, pixel size, into the dialogue window, ect, ect.
