Just to keep things uptodate and keep a record here .....

I have just done another safe-upgrade today ....... got rid of one warning ...... before by adding the latest

I am now running GNOME-SHELL experimental ...... everything is fantastic ...... just love this layout now
I also add cairo-dock ..... its just the way I like my layout ...... but I am getting some tearing on the screen
when using the forums and Firefox 4.0 ....

Just wanted to try to work out if others are experiencing the same thing or not ...... is it because I have cairo-dock running ...... (will disable it after I have written this just to see if it makes any difference)

But feel free to comment ...... if there are any known issues .....

i only get a purple screen when starting gnome-shell (via gdm).

gnome-shell: error while loading shared libraries: libmozjs.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

any idea?

I got that, till I did this

sudo apt-get remove gnome-accessibility-themes

Ok found this only related to my desktop machine which has a lower spec processor and Nvidia card than my laptop ...... laptop is fine with the Nvidia 9300 GS

The Desktop I am not sure of the Nvidia number its a (5000 series) I think maybe 5600 ..... will check tomorrow ..... but only happened on that machine .....

Ok I think I am really going to prefer Gome3 over Unity. Got everything up and going only issue at this point it the font... It really looks like crap..

The font grew on me. I love it. I agree Gnome 3 is better than unity right now.

Make sure you're only using Slight Hinting for fonts.
