Acer aspire 5820TG-6406 video problem.

So i have the above mentioned laptop and it runs linux... When it wants to. I don't mind that, i can deal with it. What i can't deal with is the lack of video support. The laptop to my knowledge has two cards in it. One internal intel card, and one ATI card. The ATI card isn't reconized by UBuntu or the ATI program. How can i fix it?

That is my laptop, any my video card model is;
AMD Raden HD 6550M.

If anyone has any help they can offer that'd be great. I got through most of the other install problems so far.

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04, as 10.10 didn't even want to boot X...

So i have figured out why its not working, but i don't know how to fix it.

My laptop has two video cards in it. My ATI Radeon, and an Intel HD. I'm thinking the Intel one is the one that Ubuntu is using, and there isn't a way to switch it to the ati.

Now, anyone have a clue?
