Jailbreak iPod in Ubuntu

I'm thinking about jailbreaking my iPod touch 4g with ios 4.3 using the new redsnow. Can you do this using wine or do I have to go and use windows. Also, will the jailbreak delete my apps, and do I have to update to 4.3.1.

Same problem. I tried Wine, but the device is not recognized as being connected when in DFU mode. Also tried using Virtualbox, but kept getting stuck on "waiting for reboot".

Attempted jailbreak for Itouch 4g, 4.3.1. Apparently GreenPois0n were the only ones supporting Linux, and they've stopped making new releases... Funny, I would think something like this would be easier to do in Linux than in Windows.
