Anyone else noticing huge VLC memory leak?

I am not sure if it is the same problem, but I have been experiencing weird issues with VLC more than once, while watching a DVD. Suddenly the video freezes and VLC goes crazy, using a lot of CPU and memory.

I actually use smplayer, but sometimes some DVDs don't work with it, so I use VLC then.

VLC 1.1.10 came out recently and it seems they fixed the issues we were talking about here, I did not try it yet.

I haven't had the issue since I've installed Natty (using 1.1.9). Though, I've very recently been getting minor lag when fullscreen/cancel full screen for a few seconds. If it's fixed in 1.1.10 then the problem should be gone in 11.10's repots. If the problem ever comes back I may add the VLC ppa but otherwise I should be good.

For curiosity's sake, has anyone had the issue in the stable release of Natty (i.e not during beta/pre-beta when I read some complaints here).
