I've had quite a difficult time finding reviews of System76 desktops. Aside from the specs comparison available on the System76 website, there is little information out there for the average user who is looking to purchase a desktop and would like to know a bit more about the different models. Any help?

It may be difficult to find reviews of the current models because they keep changing. You can wait for responses to this thread from people who recently purchased desktops, or you can contact System76 directly with questions. http://www.system76.com/article_info.php?articles_id=24

Based on general experience with small companies, I recommend writing down questions beforehand and calling them directly.

Hi,

I had purchased a Ratel Ultra.
Please see below for my specs.
From a PC perspective the box is very fast and load time is really really quick from boot up to login.
The wireless card works well and picks up all of the networks in my area.
The only issue I had was the 1tb drive died but reponse and a replacement drive was very good from System76 help.
So far I have had a positive experince with this PC and have enjoyed using it.
If you would like any further opinions or questions about this PC pleas feel free to ask.

1) I notice that you're in Canada (I am too!) How much did you pay for shipping and taxes on top of the base price online?
2) How loud is the Ratel? Have you noticed much noise?
3) Have you had any issues with video or gaming? I'd like to do some light video editing and gaming and I'm concerned that it might not be powerful enough for me.

1) A. If not mistaken about $100
Base price was around $565 then I added the itmes listed.
Which bought the system up to $960
2) A. There is almost no noise. This box is extremly quite and can hardly be heard at all.
3) A. No issues with video at all.
