    Question Equalizer Visualization screensaver

Well my first attention was to find some cool background behind the cube effect when changing my desktops and suddenly I came up with the idea that background could be equalizer animation so I just started to looking for some equalizer animated screensavers and there is not. I've also read that is not even possible to animate digital sound freq output and then when I was in the end of my hopes there comes one of corse Ubuntu GEEK named Ian who programed animation but as a programe runing on the screen ... and I am just not the IT master so I can't rewrite program into a screensaver or even bacground animation so I have to put request here in the brain of linux society is there somebody who is able to do that ??? some help

    Re: Equalizer Visualization screensaver

You might want to look into ProjectM. One of the best, if not THE best audio visualization for Linux. It can run as a standalone program so you should be able to run that after a certain amount of idle time. Thats where the biggest issue lies. There doesn't seem to be an option to run a command as "screensaver".
    This seems promising though: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=305357&page=2
    I'll test it tomorrow.

One other pretty large downside: you'll have to compile it from source, it's not included in the software repos. See if this guide works:

    Re: Equalizer Visualization screensaver

well I tried it's only player got awesome visualisations but I still not a screensaver. I'll tell you what is the purpose I have compiz on my ubuntu and it's boring to look at it when i change my desktops and bacground is not animated so I decided to animate background of the cube I draw some bacgrounds in GIMP but I want them animated. thus I tried to rewrite compiz and I am able to put screensaver into the bacground of the cube and if there was equalizer screensaver it might be easy to put it in the background of the cube
