    Please help with xorg.conf

Okay, I have been fighting with this for hours......I gave up a couple weeks ago but decided to try again o set up xorg.conf with a 1920x1080 resolution. I feel like the file is right but I am getting some strange options when going in to change the resolution (like 1920x540). Right now i is set to 1024x768 but I know my graphics card and tv can do better. Here is my xorg.conf file, PLEASE help if you can

I understand it completely, grappled hopelessly with comprehension, balanced on the edge of insanity for an eternity.....a moment.

    Re: Please help with xorg.conf

Try to set your resolution by following this guide:
    https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/Resolution

    - either the "xorg.conf" way, since you did already set one up

    - or the "xrandr" way, generally easier:

I assume you are using XDM as display manager?
I don't know right now where to place the xrandr commands to be run at startup of XDM.
But you could at least place them into "~/.xprofile", see the guide about the disadvantages of this.
