    This anti-alasing method is not similar to gnome-appearance-properties. And I must admit that this method is a little bit uglier. But you can check that is is anti-alised or not by zoom in the text inside the browser. If it doesn't have any alias, so that the smoothing font engine is doing its job.

    About the above method, you have to restart to get your system to take effect after editing the file.

    I restarted the browser, but not the system, and didn't observe any change. The letters appear with colour pixels in the corners, instead of grey tones.

    Although I did it fast, I looked for the font config file in .local, referenced in /etc/fonts/fonts.conf Should I have looked in /local instead of ~/.local ?? I'll give it a try soon.
