Running Ubuntu 10.04 on my Dell Latitude D420.

I would love the ability to send SPDIF out of the port replicator. (dock)
I do not even know if this is physically possible with the D420.

I do know that it works under winxp and win7 with the D820 (use on a regular basis)

Can anyone confirm/deny that this is even doable?
