    Building and moving over a kernel for a ThinkPad 770

    Hi all,
    I have this beauty running 10.4 (netinst, no X). It's actually pretty smooth but I'd like to have APM working and would of course not mind a bit of speed, if it makes sense to talk about speed on a machine like this

    What I would like to do is build it on my other laptop, then move it over. Can someone provide a link to a howto, or perhaps instruct me here? I've tried a few times and failed, so something detailed and (kernel) beginner-friendly would be nice.
