    Question Window corruption

Hi, I am new to Ubuntu, and am having problems with graphics corruption when scrolling text in Windows, most ntably when using Open Office. Text scrolls outside the scroll region into Menu bars or other regions of the screen building a corrupt display which can be refreshed by minimizing and maximising again.

I tried to run compiz --replace --debug, but this fails with the message:
compiz could not stat() file /home/mike/compiz/plugins/libcore.so - followed by another 5 similar messages. It tries to revert to metacity, but fails and I have to reboot. Also, I cannot set visual effects to "normal", these always revert to "none".

I am running 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) on a Dell Inspiron which has the Intel graphics 950 chipset. I am also using a separate monitor to extend my desktop.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Question Re: Window corruption

No I am not sure. This is a new Ubuntu install and I have not done anything to update the driver. Where would I find the appropriate driver, and how would I install it?
