Anyone know of a repository where I can get the Moonlight 4.0 Preview .dlls?
Synaptic has monodevelop-moonlight but it's version 2.4.
I am guessing I have to add a repository to have Synaptic update from it right?

Please go to this site:

Download the plug-in.

Forget it, Jake, it's Linux (apologies to Robert Towne)
I have the plug-in.
What I need is the .DLLs to load into MonoDevelop so that I can develop apps which will run under Moonlight.
I can do so today but I am stuck at the 2.4 level.
Check here for tar.gz packages , I hope it's what your looking for.

Well, I downloaded it and it seems like I would have to build it?
Would it instead be possible to download an install for another Linux distro and simply extract the (already built) .DLLs from that?
I posted a request in the Moonlight forum but no answers there.... this is really frustrating.

Coming from your other thread... http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1715581
Yes would would have to build it, the process seems to be nicely explained on the projects site.
Maybe you could look at the nightly builds from here: http://www.go-mono.com/moonlight/download.aspx
Because it's beta software, you won't get it from a distro's normal repos' you'd need to be using the testing branch Natty Narwhal for example, not that it'll be included it's just an example.
There seems to be quite a bit of information on what you need to do to get it installed. For example: http://www.novell.com/news/press/201...available.html
Bear in mind that this press release is just over a month old now for beta software, I would be surprised if any distro's had it in their testing repo's already.
If you want the latest and greatest you'll need to compile from source...
referrals are great, except 2012 is drawing to a close, and this stuff still doesn't work
Moonlight is dead . See this.
