    VIA VT1708S Subwoofer issues

Hi, im running my ubuntu 10.10 64-bit system on an ASRock P43DE and im having an issue when i play any form of media. Basically, the bass is cut down to a minimum volume, except when im running the "Test speakers" function in the audio control panel. In sound preferences i can actually hear the subwoofer kicking in, and the are always small amounts of vibrations coming from it when playing audio. The speakers are working fine as i have tested them(btw they are 5.1).
    Thanks in advance

Okay - i have found something which could help. Basically, if your listening to something and change the amount of channels the system is supposed to be outputting the sub will kick in. As soon as its stopped and you go to play something else the subs dropped again. Any idea of what may be causing this, or is it another bug to report?
