Okay the problem appears to be back for me. This is weird.

It looked like that worked...I uninstalled the flashplugin and then cleared Chrome and restarted it and watched two videos: one I hadn't viewed previously and one I had. They both played with no redness but then I clicked on another and the redness came back.

    sigh x2.

I guess this problem is not fixable. They will probably fix it tomorrow. So I guess all we can do is wait.

    Solved! Ubuntu 10.10 64bit Desktop.
    - Close Chromium
    - Unistall flash (see previous posts)
    - Open Firefox
    - Try access youtube video
    - Get an error message and a button to load plug-ins
    - Install Gnash
    - Close Firefox
    - Open Chromium
    - Access youtube videos
PS: Gnash has always worked better than Adobe's plugins for me.
    Enjoy.

I have 10.04 32 bit and had this problem yesterday too. Just logged in about 10 minutes ago and there were security updates for firefox, pango, and xulrunner. The updates haven't helped any.

I'm only having this red video problem with youtube. Other flash video players work. I'm just going to shoot youtube tech support an email and see if they know what's going on.

Same problem here since this morning, on Lucid 32 bit. No problem on Maverick 64 bit.

The problem disappears if the PREF youtube cookie is erased. It comes back with the cookie, though.

Temporary workaround : erase the PREF cookie + block all youtube cookies.

YouTube videos will then play fine, but you won't be able to log into your account.
